Main Fact (pictured above) continued his remarkable run of form with a facile success on the flat at Catterick yesterday taking his winning streak to a magnificent seven.  Owing to his previous success at Newbury being an apprentices' contest, he was able to compete unpenalised yesterday from the same mark of 60.  It didn't look plain sailing through the early stages as they went very quickly for the grade and Main Fact was detached at the back of the field under jockey Ben Curtis.  He picked off his rivals with the minimum of fuss though and was always in command in the straight, coming further and further clear to register an 11 length success.  He has now won his last seven starts (five over hurdles and two on the flat) and he holds a further entry at Newmarket on Friday, whilst there are other options for him so it would be no surprise to see him out again before long.  He takes his racing extremely well and absolutely revels in the deep ground.  What a star!

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Nottingham and Kempton whilst the jumps action comes from Fakenham and our local track, Taunton.  David has runners at both jumps meetings; To Fly Free and Stubborn Logic at Fakenham and Mrs Miggins at Taunton.  To Fly Free contests the juvenile hurdle at Fakenham at 2.02pm and she has done well this season, finishing in the frame on all four of her starts to date and she deserves to land one of these.  She didn't look to stay at Exeter last time and is back in trip on an easier track.  Fergus Gillard is in the saddle and claims a handy 7lbs off her back and she looks to have a good chance for the David Pipe Racing Club.  You could be a part of the fun too - Racing Club membership is only £100 per year and you can find more details by clicking here...

Stubborn Logic is our other runner at Fakenham and he contests the 2m7½f handicap hurdle at 2.32pm.  He ran a very good third at Wincanton over two furlongs less last time, only getting caught close home.  He is 2lbs higher this afternoon but must go well again provided he stays this longer trip.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

Over at Taunton, Mrs Miggins is our only runner when she takes in the staying handicap chase at 4.10pm.  She was a good winner of her penultimate start at Southwell on good ground before disappointing last time.  Her jumping was not as good as it can be that day and with a clear round she would have a decent chance from this 5lbs higher mark.  David Noonan takes the ride.

There were good performances from the English clubs in Champions League action last night as Liverpool beat FC Midtyjylland 2-0, whilst Manchester City were excellent as they dominated Marseille 3-0 away from home.  Chelsea and Manchester United play tonight.
