Sans Logique ran okay to finish fourth on his first start over hurdles at Sedgefield yesterday afternoon, only beaten a shade over three lengths.  He tried to make all under Tom Scu and they really quickened through the second half of the contest with four in with a chance between the last two hurdles.  He was impeded approaching the last at which point the writing was on the wall.  Even so, he jumped well enough on the whole and will improve for the experience.  The first three home are no slouches and he was conceding 7lbs to the two immediately in front of him, suggesting that Sans Logique is well up to winning something similar, especially on a slightly easier surface.

Following the abandonment of Hamilton's card due to waterlogging there are just three meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Goodwood and Newmarket's July course, whilst over the sticks there is a fixture from Fontwell.  Typically, the best racing of the day is taking place in Ireland where there are a couple of Group 3 contests on the Curragh's card.  David has no runners this afternoon.

The Formula One circus moves to Spa in Belgium this week, the most challenging track that remains on the calendar these days.  It marks the anniversary of the death of Formula Two driver Anthoine Hubert who died as a result of a multiple car pile-up last year.  The race will go ahead as planned in spite of that and increasing pressure for the participants to boycott the race to raise the profile of the anti-racism movement.
