Weekend Jottings

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with flat card from Sandown and Wolverhampton whilst there is a jumps fixture from Cartmel.  ITV continue to support the weekend fixtures with coverage of some of Sandown's card as well as a couple of race from Cartmel and Naas over in Ireland.  The Sandown card looks a good one with a couple of Group 3 contests on the menu including the Solario Stakes for two year olds.  It has thrown up some top-notchers in recent years with the likes of Masar, Too Darn Hot and Kingman all successful although I would be surprised if one as good as those were to emerge today.

There are no runners from the Pond House team today, although we will have three runners at Southwell tomorrow so come back then for our thoughts on those.

Tonight sees the final of the Champions League and it is covered by BT Sports.  It looks sure to be a good match between Paris St Germain and Bayern Munich with the German team slight favourites to win it all.
