I am delighted to report that David has secured the services of Ryan Moore for Junior in the Ascot Stakes on Tuesday.  Last year our eight year old was partnered to victory by Seb Sanders but he his required to ride for his boss Sir Mark Prescott in the race this time.  Ryan is not a bad replacement I think you would all agree and I am sure they will make a great team!  Its brilliant to have him on board and I cannot wait for Royal Ascot to get started next week!

I love Richard Hannon's quote in the Racing Post, "He's missed 2 winners but he'll have got at least two rounds of golf in by now!".  Hannon is talking about his stable jockey Richard Hughes who has missed two winners so far due to his suspension.  I am sure the break will be doing Richard Hughes the world of good though and he will be back in great winning form when he returns.  Talking of jockeys, I see that Jamis Spencer is 31 today.  He looks so much youger and I think he looks like my paper boy!  It is also Mrs McCoy's birthday and I bet that AP gave the paper her age as you should never give a ladies age away!  Happy Birthday Chanelle.

With Royal Ascot not too far off the clerk of the course, Chris Stickels must be keeping a close eye on the weather reports.  It must be very difficult to know how much water to put on the track.  He has said there are no plans to water in the immediate future as I believe there could be a bit of rain around the country today but let's just hope by next Tuesday the going is not too firm as all we want is genuine good ground for the top class horses we will be able to see next week.

Tiger Woods is to miss the Open Golf dues to his knee and achilles injuries.  Golf is just not the same without Tiger in the draw but I still can't wait for the action to start!
