             Midnight Magic Runs Today

After a fantastic weekend on flat racing it is great to have a few jumps meetings to look forward to this week.  David has three runners at Uttoxeter today, Le Grand Rocher, Dell'arca and Midnight Magic.  Le Grand Rocher makes his stable debut in the 1.25pm novices hurdle over two miles with Tom Scudamore on board.  He has to improve on what he has shown so far but hopefully wind surgery and better ground may help today.  Dell'arca runs in the three mile hurdle race at 3pm with Tom Scu on board.  He was a good third last time out at Newbury in February.  While he would prefer the ground to probably be a bit softer he is in good form at home and looks to have a good each way chance.  Midnight Magic runs in the 4.30pm handicap chase with David Noonan on board.  While he is rated 104 and this is a 0-120 3m2f handicap chase, it does not necessarily look the strongest race on paper for the grade.  He wears his customary red visor to help him concentrate and he was very consistent last season.  He won at Wincanton and was runner up three times as well.  He did not enjoy the soft conditions on his final run at Taunton in December so he can be forgiven that effort.  He has had wind surgery since then and is in good form at home so fingers crossed he can run well.

Declarations have already been made for Newton Abbot on Tuesday (jumps races are normally only 24 hours in advance apart from big races but everything is 48 hour decs at the moment).  Teaser is our only runner in the 2m4f handicap chase.  He is a course winner last season and will love conditions with Tom Scu on board.

We make declarations for Stratford on Wednesday this morning and I’lletyougonow and Lady Reset are intended runners in the mares novices hurdle as long as the race divides.  They have been schooling well at home and should like the track and conditions.

Looking a little further ahead we have a few entries at Market Rasen on Friday.  Malangen is entered in the two mile handicap chase.  He disappointed on the flat last month but this will be much more to his liking.  He was very consistent last year mixing hurdling and chasing and fingers crossed he can do the same after a break, starting on Friday!  This is actually Market Rasen’s feature summer jumps card.  While it is disappointing it has moved to a Friday from its usual weekend slot (was shown of ITV) and prize money is much reduced we appreciate things are different to normal at the moment and there is not much we can do apart from support the courses and meetings.  Leoncavallo is our entry in the feature handicap hurdle.  He made a terrific stable debut on the flat at Sandown last month and was only beaten into second by the narrowest of margins.  He has come out of that race well and this has been the target since.  Teaser holds in the feature chase, he could possibly turn out again quickly after Newton Abbot but we will just have to see how he gets on.  The same comments apply to Midnight Magic as well.

At the weekend we make entries for Bangor later today which takes place on Sunday.  Percy Street will be entered on the flat at Ascot on Saturday.

Have a good day everyone and enjoy the jumping action from Uttoxeter.
