Little Red Lion & Great Tempo
With the fact that we are only on day 4 of lock down the reality that this is going to be a tough few weeks is really hitting home.  While in our own little bubble here at Pond House and our working day is relatively 'normal' it is hard to get away from what is going on around the country.  The Chancellor's package for the self-employed was welcomed yesterday with it set to help many trainers, jockeys and self-employed people who work within the racing industry.  Like PAYE workers, self-employed workers are basically going to get the same support from the government.  The BHA is working closely with the government to come up with an industry plan which is good for everyone involved.

If life was normal there would have been racing from Fontwell, Lingfield, Navan, Newcastle and Wetherby today.  Instead we can today if interested watch the action from Singapore at Kranji starting at 10.20am and later racing comes from Tampa Bay Downs, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita in the US.  One little interesting fact for you, a friend of ours works in broadcasting of racing in Singapore, Nick Childs.  Nick used to work for Paul Nicholls and look after the great Kauto Star!

We are enjoying some welcome sunshine at the moment although temperatures are still dipping below freezing at night.  We have got several of the horses going out by day and in my night.  We captured a nice photos of David's Racing Club horses Great Tempo and Little Red Lion out in the field.  We think they are discussing which of their wins was best!

Over the coming days on this blog we are going to start to take a look back through some of the key horses and milestones that have been through Pond House over the years, there have been quite a few!  If anyone has any particular suggestions they would like to feature please do get in touch and we will try our best to have a look at them all.  We have good archives here so on these quieter days it will be nice to bring people some great memories.  Have a good day people and stay safe.

A guest calls over the waiter and says "Please try my soup".
Waiter "What is the problem, is it too salty?"
Guest "No, just try my soup".
Waiter "What then, is it too cold?"
Guest "No, please try my soup".
Waiter "Is is too hot?"
Guest "No it isn't, please could you just try my soup?"
Waiter "But there's no spoon".
Guest "Finally!!"
