There are now a few blank days from racing before the festive feast on Boxing Day.  I am not sure why we have no racing, I guess it is nice for the jockeys to have a couple of days off but to be honest all the staff and horses will be carrying on at home as normal.  David has entries at six of the seven meetings on Boxing day and while we might not have many runners shown on the ITV races we will be trying to sneak a winner or two around the country!  Declarations for Boxing Day are made on Monday so keep checking back here for more news of our runners throughout the week.

Christmas at the yard is a busy time.  A lot of the staff are away from their families and so several of them will be joining Leanne and I and the children around our Christmas table.  We have a half day on Christmas Eve so that anyone can complete last minute present buying!  The staff choose to either work Christmas Day or New Year's day and thankfully it usually works out fairly evenly.  We come in on Christmas morning and get the riding out and all the work done to finish as soon as we can.  Staff that will be at Pond House for lunch will then be here to do evening stables and then it will be all back to normal on Boxing Day!
