There was another nice winner for the stable yesterday afternoon when Miss Tynte (pictured above) was a ready scorer of the mares' handicap hurdle at Plumpton.  Held up in rear on only her second start beyond three miles, she made smooth progress to lead before the penultimate flight and came clear under Tom Scudamore to win well.  She had previously looked to have been in the grip of the handicapper and was still 7lbs above her last winning mark so this was definitely an improved performance.  She is still unexposed at this trip and hopefully she can progress again.  It is good to see the horses continuing in such good form with 40 winners on the board.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Southwell and Lingfield, whilst there is an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton.  David has two runners this afternoon, one at each jumps meeting.  First Lord de Cuet goes in the 1m7½f maiden hurdle at Southwell at 1.30pm.  He is a nice young hurdler having won an Irish point-to-point and bumper and made a promising enough debut over timber behind some useful types at Wincanton last time.  He will appreciate more of a test of stamina in time but is not short of speed.  The Skelton runner looks to be the principal danger based on his flat ability, although he was untried beyond a mile on the level and thus has stamina questions to answer.  Tom Scudamore is aboard our charge and he looks to have leading claims.

Our other runner is Ghost Serge, who makes his debut for the yard in the 2m handicap hurdle at Lingfield at 2.15pm.  He was useful on the flat and has some good form in the book over timber, including a Perth success and a couple of good peformances in France on very testing ground.  David Noonan takes the ride and he looks to have a decent chance.

There are a couple of Premiership matches to look forward to tonight as Crystal Palace host Bournemouth and Burnley are at home to Manchester City.  The Palace versus Bournemouth match looks a trappy affair with both teams inconsistent at best, whilst City should be too good for Burnley, although they are hardly an attractive price - they are televised on Amazon Prime at 8.15pm
