Miss Tynte runs at Plumpton today

It is a frosty start at Pond House this morning with temperatures dipping to -4c but it should be a lovely day and there are no problems at Plumpton where David has one runner, Miss Tynte.  She runs in 1.30pm mares handicap hurdle over three miles and Tom Scudamore rides.  She was disappointing at the track when last seen but steps up in distance this afternoon.  She is a lovely mare who is ultimately paying for her facile victory at Worcester back in August.  She went up a lot in the handicap for that win and as we know they take a lot longer to come back down!  She is gradually dropping and she should run her race.  The Racing Post have her as a 7/1 chance.  There is also jumps racing at Musselburgh today (hopefully but currently frozen and inspection 10am) and a flat card at Wolverhampton.

Our two runners at Newbury on Saturday ran okay in competitive races.  Nordic Combined looked like winning at three out but perhaps didn't quite see out the 2m4f trip.  He still ran well to finish sixth and he his a delight to train.  He hasn't won yet over hurdles but he is very consistent and his turn should not be too far away.  Daklondike found the preliminaries of the Ladbroke Chase a little bit overwhelming and did not get the best start which really affected his race.  He still ran with great credit and was not actually beaten that far in the end to finish 11th but he was always towards the rear and could never really get in the race properly.  He is extremely talented and a little quirky but there is a nice prize in him when things fall right for him.

Unfortunately Carlisle was lost to the elements yesterday which meant there was no racing in Britain but there was a cracking card at Fairyhouse which did not disappoint.  Envoi Allen continued his unbeaten run when winning the novice hurdle over stable companion Abracadabras who looks very decent as well.  The novice chase looked to be serving up a thrilling finish but unfortunately we lost Samcro when he fell two out.  The race was in the balance to say who would have won and I am sure if you asked both jockeys at the time they both thought they would have won!  Jumping is the name of the game however and let's just hope that Samcro is alright so that we can see him back on the track again soon.  Honeysuckle was very impressive in winning the Hatton's Grace hurdle and it is brilliant for owner Kenny Alexander who has a horse with us and is a great supporter of racing in general.
