There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with the action coming just over jumps with fixtures from Huntingdon, Hereford and Lingfield.  There is a real mix of ground with Huntingdon advertising good going, Hereford good/soft (soft in places) and Lingfield heavy - there should be something for everyone!  Meanwhile, over in Ireland their card from Fairyhouse goes ahead after passing an early morning inspection.  They abandoned yesterday's meeting so you can be sure that it is going to be pretty testing and it would be no surprise to see a non-runner or two.  There are no runners from the Pond House team today, although stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up a couple of outside rides at Hereford and David Noonan has three mounts at Lingfield.  Let's hope they have a good day.

We didn't get on the scoreboard yesterday afternoon at Kempton, but it had the look of a tricky day before racing.  The next runners from the stable will be at Exeter tomorrow where we have a few entered.

I see from David's column yesterday that he is planning to launch a new Racing Club with immediate effect.  That is certainly exciting news...the stable has a rich history with such ventures with the Pipe/Scudamore and Martin Pipe Racing Club enjoying over two hundred winners.  The famous black and white silks have been revived and there are four horses currently in training with plans to increase that number.  The club will allow for regular racecourse runners, owners badges, updates on the horses progress and members stable visits to Pond House.  At £100 per year, that sounds like excellent value, so if you would be interested in joining do drop us a line at This email address is being protected from spambots. There was a shock defeat for Rafa Nadal at the ATP tennis tournament at the O2 Arena in London when he was beaten in straight sets to Alexander Zverev.  Nadal was error prone and will need to win his remaining round robin matches if he is to progress.  Having looked a shoo-in to end the year at number one in the world he can now be beaten to it by Novak Djokovic if he fares better at this season closing event.

Formula One has announced that the entire sport aims to be carbon neutral by 2030.  Given that that is only just over ten years away that is a bold statement given the nature of the business.  Not only are they planning to make the cars carbon neutral, but they also want to remove the carbon footprint of the teams and drivers as they make their way across the globe from race to race.  That will include road and air transport.  It sounds like pie in the sky, but F1 offers the cutting edge of technology and it would be great for all of us if they were able to make good on their plans.

My wife is terrified of spiders but she doesn't like them being squished.  There was a big one in our lounge last night which she told me to take out.  So, we went down the pub, couple of drinks and a chat.  Cool guy...turns out he wants to be a web developer!
