Exciting Dual Purpose Prospect

Story Of Friends (pictured above) maintained the good form of the yard with a ready success on his hurdling debut at Warwick yesterday afternoon.  Our former Irish point winner jumped well and won comfortably - he will certainly get further and jump fences in time and looks like another good prospect for the future.  It was also nice for Tom Scudamore to get a winner on his 37th birthday.  Our other runner, Percy Street finished fourth on his chase debut at Southwell and looks as though he needs to brush up his jumping a bit.  He has the ability to be winning over fences so I am sure David will get him to do just that.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with all of the action coming on the flat from Sandown, Goodwood, Lingfield, Chepstow and Chelsmford.  The meetings at Lingfield and Goodwood are not that far apart - I would have thought the racegoers who would attend one of these meetings would normally go to the other as well, which begs the question why hold them on the same day?

You can feel a tad hard done by if you backed Peruvian Gale yesterday.  The horse jinked at the start, unseating Lizzie Kelly yet was deemed a runner for betting purposes.  You never had a run for your money so as far as I am concerned if you can't win, you certainly shouldn't be able to lose.  The rule needs changing.

Arsenal are having trouble selling their tickets for the Europa League Final in Baku.  They have sold just 3,500 of their allocation of 6,000.  I keep saying they should move the final to somewhere where the English fans can get involved but with all the money involved and a stadium that seats 64,000 to fill there is no chance of that happening.

Meanwhile, footballing legend George Best has been honoured with a statue in Windsor Park.  It would have been his 73rd birthday and great goalkeeper Pat Jennings was on hand to unveil the statue.  I only met George the once and he seemed very quiet and normal...not noisy and abnormal like me (before anyone says it!).

Love is blind, hate is deaf.  You would think that stupid would be mute but I just keep on talking!  Have a nice day...
