There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Beverley, Windsor and Bath as well as jumps fixtures from Kempton and Warwick.  David has a runner at both jumps tracks with Malangen running at Kempton and Drama King at Warwick.  Malangen (pictured above) comes here at the top of his game having won his last three starts which has seen his rating go from 93 to 114.  This is a better race again and he is going to require a personal best over this longer trip of 2m5f, even so he has sound claims under Tom Scudamore.  Tom has also picked up a decent outside ride on the card aboard No Hidden Charges.  Over at Warwick, Drama King contests the 3m1f handicap hurdle and he would need to improve on what he has shown so far.  David Noonan is in the saddle.

Aidan O'Brien continued his domination of the British flat Classics at the weekend with victory in both the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas.  Magna Grecia was an impressive winner of the 2,000 and I know people who were on at fancy prices over the winter so well done to them!

I see that John Francome and Jim McGrath are set to be reunited as they will be auctioneer and bid spotter at Ascot Carers Trust Auction.  One of the prizes is a visit to Coolmore Stud for four people - now that would be an interesting visit, whilst there is also a five night South African safari up for grabs.  Mrs Barnes' favourite is a week long break in Paris - not for racing, but for shopping!  The online auction closes on Friday and further details can be found at www.carerstrustauction.org.

Tonight the big football match is between Manchester City and Leicester.  As long as City keep Vardy quiet they will win.  I watched Manchester United at Huddersfield over the weekend and I have to say that this has to be one of the worst United sides of all time.  They need eleven new players as they are nowhere near as good as they think they are.  I would love to know how Alexis Sanchez has managed to secure a £550,000 per week deal.  I would be sacking the person who handed him that contract.

I was disappointed to see my beloved West Ham lose in the Cup Final to Manchester City.  I am talking about the Ladies Cup Final...43,264 people turned up to watch.

Judd Trump produced some outstanding snooker in the world championship final to lead John Higgins 12-5 overnight.  He reeled off eight frames in a row and is firmly in the driver's seat to claim his first world crown.  The match finishes today.

A man walks into a bar wearing a tie fastener.  The barman says "We don't like your tie-pin here!"  Keep smiling...
