Catterick Abandoned

There are just three meetings taking place this afternoon following the abandonment of Catterick's jumps fixture.  That leaves us with just a National Hunt card from Hereford supported by two all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Kempton.  Tom Scu has picked up an outside ride at Hereford but at least the abandonment will save David Noonan from a long drive to Catterick.

Talking of Tom Scudamore, I see that he is today warning that the flying of drones near racecourses is posing a real threat to safety.  One was sighted yesterday at Leicester and they have been spotted flying over the track on several occasions during the last six months.  You don't want them in the air when there are helicopters about as they could cause a serious accident.  Don't forget with the Cheltenham Festival just around the corner there will be helicopters all over the place then.  I reckon they should throw the operators in prison for endangering people's lives.

I see that Debbie McGee, widow and former assistant of magician Paul Daniels says that Frankie Dettori is the worst tipster ever.  Frankie gave her some tips at Ascot and they were all well beaten so it looks as though he is best avoiding her in future.  She may have been better off asking Dynamo!

Plymouth beat Walsall last night so my good run on the football continues.  Burton take on Manchester City in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tonight.  City are 9-0 up after the first leg and with the favourites 1/6 shots, I think I will be keeping a watching brief.

England take on the West Indies in the cricket on the box today at 2pm.  England are 4/11 chances and that reflects their chances although I don't think I will be backing them at such a short price away from home.

What do Ant and Dec actually do?  I was astonished when the pair won the best television presenters award at last night's TV gongs for the 18th year in a row.  Ant has been off work for nearly a year...I should have learned how to read an idiot board!
