There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Fontwell and Ffos Las as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton.  David has four runners at Ffos Las; Great Tempo, Nordic Combined, Easter Eric and Martabot.  Great Tempo (pictured above) contests the 2m6f handicap hurdle at 1.30pm - he finished third at Ludlow last time over three miles and this more galloping track should suit.  He has been placed from higher marks over fences and while he is an infrequent winner, he should go well again under David Noonan.  Nordic Combined runs in the 2m novices' hurdle at 2.05pm.  He finished a good second to Rathill at Newbury last time and if runs anywhere near that sort of form he should be a good thing although his odds will reflect that.

Easter Eric and Martabot run in the 3.05pm race, a 2m4f handicap hurdle.  Easter Eric showed promise in a bumper and novices' hurdles and makes his handicap debut today under David Noonan.  Meanwhile, Martabot has been unlucky to bump into a couple of in-form rivals on his last couple of starts.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

I normally have a pop at the handicapper but it looks like he got is about right when he put up Dimple 16lbs for winning a couple of egg and spoon races.  The decision was fully justified when Dimple landed the feature race at Kelso by 20 lengths.  It looks like he should have put Dimple up by another stone!

There was a great result for Manchester United who beat Spurs 1-0 at the weekend.  The star of the match was David de Gea, the United goalkeeper.  Spurs would have won 6-1 if it were not for his sensational keeping!  They really must sign him up to a long-term deal...he is the best goalie in the world at present and they will struggle without him.  Tonight it is Manchester City versus Wolves and while City should be too good, they are too short to back.

I have just seen the outfit that Caroline Wozniacki is going to wear at the Australian Open tennis this week.  She is the defending champion, but it is going to be more like a fashion show if her outfit is anything to go by.  Also smartly clad is Canadian cutie Eugenie Bouchard.
