There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Taunton and Doncaster as well as two all-weather flat cards from Lingfield and Kempton.  David has one runner this afternoon as Legal History contests the 2m maiden hurdle at 1.45pm.  He was a useful performer on the flat and made a satisfactory hurdling debut over hurdles when third behind a useful type at Newbury last time.  I think this quicker ground will help him and he looks to have a decent chance under Tom Scudamore.

The stable enjoyed a nice winner yesterday afternoon as Catch The Swallows (pictured above) showed a good attitude to win the bumper at Bangor on his debut for the Pond House team.  He looked to be in a bit of trouble entering the home turn, but he managed to get a nice run up the far side rail and stayed on in good style to win going away.  Second in his only previous start in an Irish point-to-point, he clearly stays and can jump as well so he rates a really nice prospect for the future.

Know The Score finished third in the competitive novices' hurdle - he already looks like a thorough stayer and he may benefit from a softer surface and more galloping track in time.  He certainly wasn't disgraced here behind speedier types (the winner had previously finished just behind the subsequent Grade One Tolworth Hurdle victor) and there will be plenty more good days for him.

Unfortunately it was not a good day for exciting prospect Queens Cave who was pulled up in the mares' novices' hurdle at Ayr.  She was pulled up in the straight when beaten and a post race examination by the vet revealed that she had a fibrillating heart.  She will be thoroughly assessed and given the best possible treatment.  Still only a youngster, I am sure there will be better days for her.

There was some shock news on the ante-post betting front when Master Dino, who was favourite for the JLT novices' chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March on the back of his impressive British debut at Plumpton last weekend was found to have sustained a hairline fracture to a leg.

Tottenham Hotspur managed to beat Chelsea yesterday after converting a penalty.  The referee called the penalty after reviewing the evidence with the VAR system.  It took a while, but it did look like the correct decision...and I can collect my winnings!  Manchester City play Burton in the other semi-final this evening and City are 1/20 so I don't think I will be lumping on.

Why were the arrows nervous?  Because they were all in a quiver!  Have a nice day...
