This afternoon there are three meetings taking place and they are all jumps cards.  The action comes from Lingfield, Huntingdon and Worcester and David has runners at Lingfield and Worcester.  Old favourite Purple 'N Gold runs in the 2.30pm race at Worcester - a 2m4f handicap hurdle where he is partnered by amateur jockey Rex Dingle who claims a handy 7lbs off his back.  He went back up the 5lbs he was dropped for finishing a close fourth last time out at Taunton but remains on a much lower handicap mark than over fences so he is not without  a chance.  Meanwhile, Tom Scudamore goes to Lingfield where he rides Gabrial The Great (pictured above) in the 2m3½f handicap hurdle.  He has the ability to go well in a race of this nature although he probably wouldn't want too much more rain.

I see that some trainers are complaining about the small field sizes at Kempton yesterday.  As I said, these races are clearly not what the trainers want, or the races are made uncompetitive by one or two horses with lofty ratings...or is it that they just do not like the track?  If they are not careful, there is a good chance that the track will be closed to National Hunt racing.

Don't panic gentlemen, the calendar for point-to-point ladies with no clothes on will be on sale this weekend at Cheltenham and at the early point-to-point meetings.  There is a picture of Claire Hardwick leading up Gina Andrews with no clothes on...perhaps they were struggling to do the weight?!  The calendar must be a best seller as it is for such a good cause with the proceeds going to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

England's footballers take on Brazil tonight on ITV at 8pm.  The Brazilians are 5/6 chances with Boylesports and they could well be tough nuts to crack!

I saw a picture of England cricketer Moeen Ali feeding a crocodile while over in Australia for the forthcoming Ashes series.  I can see the Australian attack having more bite than the croc.  Our batsmen are sure to face a barrage of bouncers that will make the reptile look tame!

I found a Justin Bieber ticket nailed to a tree the other day so I took it...you never know when a nail could come in handy!
