Purple N Gold runs at Cheltenham
Today we have five meetings, 3 flat cards at Doncaster, Newbury and Chelmsford plus jumping at Kelso at a very good card at Cheltenham. David runs Purple N Gold, Stars Over the Sea, Kie and Chic Theatre at Cheltenham. As you would expect they all look to be in very competitive races. Purple N Gold does not seem to know how to run a bad race, whether it is over hurdles or fences and hopefully he can run well again but it is a £50,000 race!
Stars Over the Sea runs in the 2.45pm hurdle and Kie runs in the 3.20pm 3m1f handicap chase. They are both going to be fairly big prices. We also have one runner in the lucky last! Chic Theatre runs in the bumper. He won his last start at Plumpton very impressively but once again this looks tough and with five previous winners in the race I wish I could be more positive. Fingers crossed they should hopefully all run well and you just need that extra bit of luck.
Yesterday, Saint John Henry fell, which was the third time he has done this in his last six runs. He actually jumps very well but has just been a little bit unlucky. The good news this morning is that although a little sore as you would expect he seems absolutely fine. Weather Babe ran a cracker to finish second at odds of 25/1. She was only just beaten and it is great for owner breeders Wayne and Sarah Clifford. Stable amateur David Noonan had a nice ride in the amateur chase on Top Cat Henry and he finished third.
It looks like there is going to be a result in the Pakistan versus England cricket match. The pitch is slow but it looks a real spinners pitch and there are still three days to go. England need a big score and a long stay from one of our players. Cook was out yesterday which was a shame as he had looked in good form.
What a season Richard Fahey is having. He has had 220 winners, mind you he has had 1560 runners! He must have some horses to train.
My football bets today are Arsenal 4/9, Liverpool 21/20 and Stoke 23/20. It is a shame the West Ham v Chelsea match is not on the box!
My wife thinks I am a clock. My mate said don’t worry she is just winding you up! Have a nice day.
