It looks like we are just going to have to feast on Christmas leftovers and all-weather racing on Boxing Day!  Huntingdon, Market Rasen, Towcester, Wetherby, Wincanton, Down Royal and Leopardstown have already been abandoned and Fontwell say there is only a 50-50 chance of racing going ahead...although that is not what my mate said who lives down the road in Bognor Regis.  Course officials are even inspecting the all-weather course at Wolverhampton at 6.30am on Sunday!  The good news that Down Royal and Leopardstown have moved their meetings to Thursday, although both courses still admit to being up against it.  Monday's Welsh National card at Chepstow has also fallen by the wayside although they have been quick to move the entire meeting to January 8th - hopefully this will give the course enough time to thaw out.

With the King George the usual Christmas highlight, I thought I would also a quick trivia question...Can anyone tell me who the last horse to finish in front of Kauto Star was?  You will find the answer at the bottom of this article.

It's Gerry Supple's birthday today.  The silver fox is 33 today and you might remember him partnering Carryonharry to numerous victories for MCP back along.  I think they were probably Gerry's last winners...sorry Gerry, only joking!  Anyway many happy returns to you.

i2christmas_treeHappy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all from everyone at Pond House!

...oh and the answer to the question?  David's Our Vic was the last horse to finish in front of Kauto Star in the 2008 Totesport Bowl at Aintree (his subsequent defeats have been when he has failed to complete).
