There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with action on the level from Leicester and Windsor.  I keep looking at the flat meetings for sellers or claimers, although the only one I have seen lately is at Leicester over seven furlongs - not much good for potential jumpers!  I always thought you needed a horses to stay 10-12 furlongs on the flat to be confident that they would be okay over two miles and hurdles.  I claimed subsequent Champion Hurdle winner Make A Stand from a 1m4f claimer at Leicester, although that is still under dispute as Martin insists that he put in the successful claim!  He turned out to be the best jumper of hurdles that I have ever seen...it just goes to show, there are bargains to be had if you look in the right place.

There will be plenty of sore heads this morning as guests will be recovering from A P McCoy's retirement party in Ireland.  There were over 1,200 people in attendance, although I was one of the sensible ones who stayed away!  I went to the party on his final day in the saddle near Newbury when a hundred or so of his close friends attended (I thought I would get that in!).  Can you believe that loud-mouthed orange commentator Matt Chapman has somehow managed to get himself onto the Irish guest list?!  At least they won't need a microphone with him there and he will make everyone else appear normal!  Only joking Matt...or am I?!

What a great performance from England to wrap up the fourth Test and with it reclaim the Ashes at Trent Bridge yesterday.  Poor old Oliver our head lad saw just 40 minutes of play during his visit - I guess at least he was there to see them win the series with a match to spare.  There have been some great pictures of England paceman Stuart Broad in the papers over the last few days.  Whenever anybody took a catch off of his bowling he would put both of his hands over his mouth and his eyes would nearly pop out of his head!  Mind you, there were some great catches...by the way, did you know that skipper Alistair Cook now has 120 catches for England?  Only Andrew Strauss on 121 has more.

I hate to say it, but I am afraid to say that my team West Ham could get a hiding today as they take on Arsenal.  Kick-off is at 1.30pm and it is on the box...I think I might go for a walk!

Did you know that as Hindus do not eat beef, McDonalds in New Delhi make lamb hamburgers?  I hope you remember my fascinating facts...you never know when you might find yourself in New Delhi!
