There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Salisbury and Lingfield as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Fontwell and Southwell.  The stable has two runners at Fontwell; Sir Frank Morgan and Race To Glory.  Sir Frank Morgan (pictured above) has his first run of the new season although he won a two runner hurdle at Exeter towards the end of April when turning over a 1/2 favourite.  He was a decent staying handicapper on the level with a mark of 79 and I can see him going well once again now his attention is turned to handicaps.  Our other runner, Race To Glory showed improved form last time when runner-up at Newton Abbot although the assessor saw fit to put him up by 7lbs for that effort which I thought was a little harsh.  Tom Scu rides them both and they look to hold sound chances.

David still leads the way during these very early stages of the trainers' championship - it's just a shame that the French prize money does not count towards it!  Meanwhile on the jockeys front, Richard Johnson is running away with it at the top of the table and is currently 15 winners clear of Sam Twiston-Davies.  The only trouble is, it is a long time to wait to collect my winnings!

I see reports state that viewing figures for the Derby on Channel 4 dropped to a new low and the Jockey Club are looking into why.  I don't think it is difficult...the whole viewing experience has become too technical.  My wife used to watch the Morning Line every Saturday but she doesn't any more - she tells me it is because they over-analyse everything, while there are no longer any characters having a bit of banter (the likes of John Francome and (God forbid!) John McCririck).  I would suggest taking a look at the likes of the former BBC 2 show,Top Gear - the show was hugely popular, not because they could tell you every fact about the cars featured, but because it was entertaining watching the three presenters (no matter how dislikeable!) who had a great rapport together.

Tiger Woods has just turned in the worst round of his illustrious career and I can't see him ever attaining the heights he did before.  In order to show improvement he needs to play a lot more often and probably get rid of a few of his coaching staff and pay a visit to see guru Butch Harman.

Apparently Diego Maradonna wants to become a Fifa Vice President.  I'm not sure I would want to be picking up his food bill - it would probably be more than what has gone missing already!

Did you know that 23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their bottoms?  That is the last time I ever use the photocopier in the office!  Have a nice day...
