Following a bumper day of great racing yesterday we have just two meetings to look forward to this afternoon - a flat card at Bath and a jumps card from Kempton. The big name at Kempton is The New One who makes his seasonal reappearance in the Listed hurdle. He won it last year and according to official figures, he has tons in hand. Even so, I reckon part-owner Gino will have had very little sleep last night and will have spent a large part of it walking his box! The New One is too short in the market to recommend as a betting proposition but it is nice to see a top class horse in action. Sam Twiston-Davies is charged with doing the steering.

There are six meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action coming from Ascot, Catterick and Wolverhamption while there are jumps fixtures from Stratford, Market Rasen and Ffos Las. The stable runs two at the Welsh track; Epic Warrior and Lilbourne Legacy while Kie (pictured above) is our sole representative at Stratford. Epic Warrior faces just five rivals in the three mile handicap hurdle which is something of a surprise considering that there is £15,000 up for grabs - he looks to have a decent chance in what is nonetheless a very competitive race. Lilbourne Legacy faces an in-form runner in Dream Bolt who has won three of his last five starts. David Noonan takes the ride aboard our runner and he claims a handy 7lbs off his back. Over at Stratford Kie carries top-weight in the 2m4f handicap chase. He produced a career best effort to win over the course last time but a 7lbs higher mark means that he will need to have improved again.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Haydock, Redcar and Wolverhampton as well as two jumps fixtures from Wincanton and Fakenham. The stable has two runners at Wincanton; Houston Dynimo and A Hairy Koala. Houston Dynimo has won eight times under rules and will go on the ground although he is still 10lbs higher than his last winning mark (which came over hurdles) so he will need to be on top of his game to win from 120 today. A Hairy Koala has a couple of pieces of placed form that would give him a squeak in the handicap hurdle at 4.45pm although he has been a little disappointing so far this season.

The stable enjoyed a nice winner at Worcester yesterday when Lady Of Longstone ran out a decisive winner of the 2m7f mares' handicap hurdle under conditional jockey Micheal Heard. She saw out this longer trip really well and could yet be open to further improvement. She has her limitations but she always seems to do her very best and a record of three wins, four seconds a third and a fourth from only 17 starts reads extremely well. Meanwhile, also at the meeting Dusk Till Dawn finished runner-up in the stayers' maiden hurdle and will no doubt benefit from the experience.

Today we have four meetings with flat action from Nottingham and Kempton as well as two jump fixtures from Wetherby and Worcester. The stable has four runners at Worcester; The Bank Manager, Lady Of Longstone, Drumlee Lad and Dusk Till Dawn. Lady Of Longstone (pictured above) ran a very good race at Newton Abbot last week finishing second from this mark of 95 under Michael Heard and he is in the plate again today. She is set to go up by 2lbs in future handicaps so she must hold solid claims this afternoon. Dusk Till Dawn was the impressive winner of an Irish point-to-point so this trip of 2m7f should be right up his street and a better run is expected this afternoon.

Today we have four meetings with three cards on the level from Leicester, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton as well as a jumps fixture from Huntingdon. The stable runs Impulsive American and Spending Time over the sticks - I thought that Impulsive American ran a cracker last time out at Bangor to finish a close second and this could be a good bit of placement by David. A repeat of his last effort should see him go very close. Meanwhile Spending Time (pictured above) participates in the 4.10pm race and David will be hoping that he can follow-up his last time out win at Stratford. A 9lbs hike in the weights will make things harder although he should go well once again. Over on the level Honeymoon Cocktail runs in 1m 1/2f handicap and will be partnered by Mikey Ennis - he is a 20/1 chance and that just about sums up his chances. He had some decent form in France but has yet to show it in this country.

The stable drew a blank over the weekend. Despite finishing 15th in the Cesarewitch, Low Key was only beaten a touch over six lengths. Sadly he didn't pick up in the same manner as when victorious in the trial last month although I am sure there will be other days for him. There was plenty of money around for Alternatif in the Irish version yesterday although he never really threatened and is clearly better than this. Meanwhile Dynaste was ninth in the Grade 3 hurdle at Auteuil over a trip possibly a little shy of his best these days. Even so, he was staying on in the closing stages and was beaten only nine lengths by some very decent horses - he is fully entitled to come on for this first outing since January.
