Sunday Jottings

Today we have two jumps cards at Carlisle and Southwell and the ground is described as heavy at both tracks.  AP rides a couple at Southwell which look quite interesting.  David does not have any runner and Tom Scu has a rare day off so he can spend some time with the kids and Lottie!  I see a full brother to Frankel is 100/1 to win the 2016 Derby.  I think I would want bigger odds than that!  I did not realise how many entries the Derby gets, it is 475 this year, I wonder what the entry fee is?

If you get up early in the morning don't forget Sha Tin starts at 6am.  Quite a few of our jockeys are over there riding Ryan Moore, Jamie Spencer, James Doyle, Neil Callan and Kevin Manning to nae a few.  Some of the races are worth over a million.

Man Utd play Liverpool at 1.30pm today.  They bet 17/20 Man Utd and that looks a bet to me.  They are on a winning streak while Liverpool are on a losing streak.  The 4pm games is Swansea versus Spurs.  There should be lots of goals in this one as neither team can defend!

The big darts event kicks off on Thursday at Alexandra Palace - The William Hills World Darts Championship.  There is £1.26 million in prize money up for grabs!  If you had said this 20 years ago they would have thought you were mad!  Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen are favourites.  I am going to have an interest and back Mervyn King and Gary Anderson.  With darts, I like how the crowd get involved.  Mind you some of them do not look the full ticket!
