Today we have four meetings to look forward to with two fixtures on the level at Newmmarket and Kempton as well as jumps action from Fontwell and Worcester.  Although the stable does not have any runners today, stable jockey Tom Scudamore has a decent book of seven rides at Worcester and looks to have some particularly good chances for Rebecca Curtis.  We had three runners at Exeter and while we drew a blank, I thought that Houston Dynimo ran another solid race to finish in the prize money once again on ground that would have been plenty soft enough for him.  It was a poor day for punters at the Devon track yesterday as there was not a single obliging favourite on their seven race card.

It would appear that flat jockey Frankie Dettori was having a swipe at his former employers Godolphin when he said "I'd say I've had a good season, I've had four Group One winners , Godolphon have only had one!"  I wonder what he is upset about?!

I was interested to see that Paul Nicholls has said that he has never known it to be so difficult to get his horses fit as this year.  You can tell that by the way some of them have run - or maybe they are just not as good as in previous years?...I am talking about the horses!

I was watching the football action last night and saw Manchester City go 2-0 up in Russia so decided to turn the television over.  I was shocked to see that the match finished in a 2-2 draw as City really should have won with their heads in their chest.  Meanwhile Chelsea did finish the job as they won their match 6-0.

Sir Alex Ferguson has finally come out and blamed former manager David Moyes for Manchester United's problems.  I thought that Ferguson helped to pick Moyes for the job?  Besides, it would appear that Sir Alex knew exactly the right time to call it a day - he left Moyes with an ageing team and he was not permitted the same sort of money that Van Gaal has been given to spend on new talent.  There's nothing like passing the buck!

There is a great match to look forward to tonight as Liverpool take on Ronaldo, sorry Real Madrid!  It goes to show just how far behind this standard the bookies think the Scousers are - they price up Real Madrid at 4/5 and Liverpool at 7/2 - and they are the home team!
