Winner at Plumpton last time out

There are three meetings today, all of them over the sticks at Huntingdon, Kelso and Uttoxeter.  I bet it must be frustrating for the jockeys at the moment.  You can only ride at one meeting and yet some days in the week they have no jumps cards at all!  I know I keep going on about it but, race planning!  David has three runners.  Johnny McGeeney runs in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon with Conor O'Farrel on board.  He is making his Pond House debut so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.  We have two runners at Uttoxeter, Vazaro Delafayette and Famousandfearless and Tom Scu is on board both of these.  Famousandfearless won last time out at Plumpton and has gone up five pounds for that win.  This looks quite a competitive race for some decent prize money on offer so he will have to improve again to have a chance of winning this.  This former point to point winner will appreciate the step up in distance and fingers crossed he can go well.

Kelso have put some good prize money on offer today.  They have a £22,000 handicap chase, in fact all three jumps cards have good prize money on offer which is great to see.

Channel 4 racing have five races live from Longchamp on the telly this afternoon.  The big race, The Arc is at 3.30pm and it looks a fascinating race.  Eight of the 20 runners have England based jockey's on board.  It looks a very open race and the whole card has amazing prize money.  The worst race carries £142,850! Some great races and you can see why it has attracted some good fields for the seven race card.  The legendary Sir Peter O'Sullivan will not be making the trip to Paris.  Sir Peter has seen over 70 Arc's and said he would be okay to drive himself there but when he get's out of the car his legs are useless!  The great man is a grand 95 years of age and still likes to have a chat with MCP and a bet.

I see Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is having a go at Raheem Sterling's agent saying, "shut up feeding stories about his contract".  Trouble is, that is what agents do of course as if a player gets more money or a transfer than the agent will of course get more money in his percentage!

There is come great football action today and I won't be straying too far from the sofa!  We have Man Utd versus Everton at 12noon, Chelsea v Arsenal at 2.05pm and saving the best to last, West Ham v QPR at 4.15pm.  270 minutes of football heaven with a bit of racing thrown in as well.  Have a good day.
