There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with three flat cards from Redcar, Kempton and Goodwood. The jumping action comes from Peth and the stable has one runner at the Scottish track; Sinndar's Man (pictured above) who takes in the juvenile hurdle at 4.45pm. Our three year old ran a promising race to finish runner-up 25 days ago on his racecourse debut and he is fully entitled to have improved for that experience and he should run well under Tom Scudamore. Even so, It looks like quite a hot race for this time of year and it will take a decent one to win it. We have one more runner at the two day fixture; exciting and unbeaten chaser Ainsi Fideles takes in the novices' contest tomorrow and it looks to be an exciting race with Tote Gold Trophy Hurdle winner Splash Of Ginge making his chase debut.

The road to Perth goes right past Gleneagles golf course and they tell me that there is some sort of golfing event on there at the moment! Apparently Jim Furyk was going to have USA cut into his hair like team-mate Ricky Fowler but decided to give it a miss (Jim is bald)! The papers are really going to town with coverage of the Ryder Cup this year - I don't think I have ever seen so much pre-match coverage. I would imagine that Ian Poulter will be the number one target for the American's - Poulter seems to be able to wind them up without even having to say anything! Anyway, although I can't make it to Gleneagles you can have a pretty good guess as to where I will be during the course of this weekend!

There was some result to the Capital One Cup football match last night between Liverpool and Middlesbrough. Liverpool managed to secure the win after a tense penalty shoot-out which they got the better of 16-15...unsurprisingly that is a record! Meanwhile Arsenal were beaten 2-1 at home to Southampton and you can tell by the team that they put out that they were not taking the tournament seriously. Having said that, there was still time for Arsene Wenger to have a pop at the fourth official!
In other football news, can you believe it?! Fernando Torres scored in only his second game for A C Milan...he took 14 games before he managed to get on the scoresheet for Chelsea.
Rumour has it that Real Madrid want Liverpool's Sterling next season. They always seem to get their man and money never appears to be any hindrance...watch this space!
