Today we have three meetings, two on the flat at Brighton and Leicester and a jumps card at Huntingdon.  There are eight races at brighton for just £29,000 which I think is an absolute joke.  How can our sport attract new owners with that sort of return for your investment?  David's runners performed well at Newton Abbot on Saturday without winning.  Sinndar's Man finished second on his racecourse debut and he looks sure to win, maybe even over a longer trip.  Azza finished fourth and did not quite appear to get the longer trip but ran well and it was great she showed no ill-effects from her fall over fences last time out.  Massannie looked a little unlucky in running but ran well and Hawkhill was also not far behind and ran okay.  What a buy Houston Dynimo was.  David claimed the nine year old for £6,000 back in May and he won first time out over hurdles at Southwell and he ran another great race to finish second, beaten a head in the feature chase on Saturday.  He won over £8,516 in prize money so has already paid for himself!  David should get out his magic ball again and claim some more like the Dynimo!

I think the Open Days that yards and racing commuities have look good but I am not sure I would have wanted all those thousands of people going round patting all those different horses.  You can never be sure if you are spreading anything from one yard to another.

I have been looking through today's Racing Post and I see Richard Wallis and Bill Jolly agree with me about the prize money.  I will have to show the letters to my wife, she won't believe anyone has actually agreed with me about something!

I like Racheal Kneller's blog, on which she says "If I ever go missing I would like my photo put on champagne bottles rather than milk cartons.  That way my friends will know I am missing".  A girl after my own heart!

What a weekend for football.  Man City lose at home to Stoke, Man United only get a point at Burnley, Chelsea win 6-3 against Everton, Arsenal only get a draw at Leicester and the result of the weekend was a 3-0 win by Liverpool away to Tottenham.  This will have delighted owner Terry Neill who I bet is still talking about it!  It seems the Premier League has got a lot tighter with all the teams getting closer together on form.  At the moment you would not want to back against Chelsea.  I wonder when David will make his annual trip to the Bridge?!

NBA star Kevin Durant has signed a World Record deal with Nike worth £178 million.  It is a seven year deal which works out at £38.5 million a year!  Mind you, he is still behind Cristiano Ronaldo who is on £50 million a year.

Did you know, Andy Murray has not beaten a top 10 ranked player since his 2013 Wimbledon final when he beat Noval Djokovic?  Tonight he faces number 10 Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in the fourth round of the US Open.  This is a big test for Murray as he lost to the big serving French man in Canda last month.  Have a nice day.
