Today we have five meetings on the flat at Sandown, Doncaster, Warwick, Haydock and Beverley.  Away from racing, David had a good second day at Deauville sales yesterday and bought a few very nice horses including Alternatif for £180,000.  He should have won at Auteuil last time out and has been bought for Professor Caroline Tisdall.  The Professor certainly has some nices in our yard and it looks like it good be a very exciting season ahead.  David has been busy in both Ireland and France in the past couple of weeks and as aquired some lovely young horses.  David arrived back from France last night and our new horses are due to arrive back today so we are looking forard to meeting them.

My Gosden man tells me the two year old that won at Haydock yesterday called Faydhan is a bit special.  John Gosden has a lot of two year olds and this is right up there at the top of his list so is defintely one to follow.

In the World Cup quarter finals today we have France versus Germany at 5pm on BBC 1.  There is not a lot to chosse between them and they bet 11/5 France and 31/20 Germany.  There does not seem to be many goals in these matches and I think it could go down to another penalty shoot out.  The other quarter final is Brazil versus Columbia and Brazil are 10/11 and Columbia are 15/4.  I am not sure Brazil are as good as everyone thinks.  You can back Columbia at 2/1 to qualify with Ladbrokes and Bet365.  The match starts at 9pm on ITV and it should be two great games.

I read the the German coach Joachim Low has said that England will never win a World Cup again.  I sadly have to agree.  At this moment in time 70% of our Premier League is made up of foreign players.  I keep saying that every team should only be allowed three foreign players in the team at any one time, does no-one listen to me!!!

In the tennis we do still have something to look forward to at Wimbledon, we have a pairing left in the mixed doubles - does it get any better?!  Did you know, you are more likely to get bitten by Luis Suarez than a great white shark!  You learn something new everyday!  Have a good day.
