Today we have five meetings, four on the flat at Newbury, Nottingham, Yarmouth and Haydock and a jumps card at Uttoxeter.  David has two runners at Uttoxeter this evening, Intermath and Star of Salford.  Intermath won as a two year old and is having his first try over hurdles in only the second Juvenile hurdle race of the season.  His best form seems to be about over a mile on the flat, so does have to prove that he can stay but there is some hope from his pedigree.  He has not been in the yard long but has done lots of schooling and seems to have taken to the job very well.  He is 4/1 second favourite in the Post and looks to have a chance in what does not look the strongest race on paper.  The general jumping of the babies can tend to be a bit indifferent in these races so it should be a good watch!  Star of Salford runs in the concluding Bumper.  She does have to improve on her last two runs but she did improve on her debut effort at the track last time so a similar level of improvement could see her involved in the finish this evening.

Frankie Dettori is joining the Channel 4 Racing team at Royal Ascot next week.  Normally I would say this is a good signing for the station but the set up at the moment is on the way down.  Imagine Dettori on there with messrs Francome and McCririck.  You might have a little trouble undertsanding what they are talking about being a country vocal, Italian cockney and a public schoolboy but I guess you could have subtitles underneath and at least it would be entertaining!  Channel 4 racing has got too technical and boring for my liking.  Moan over!

AP is only priced at 15/2 to beat his record total of 289 winners in a season.  He has ridden lots of winners for Donald Mccain recently but what is going to happen when Jason Maguire returns?  He is still the Champ however and I would not be surprised if he were to beat this total, let's hope he does!

It is the start of a great couple of sporting weeks and I am very excited!  We have the World Cup, US Open Golf, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot and even cricket!  The World Cup kicks off tonight with Brazil versus Croatia at 9pm on ITV.  Brazil ar 4/11 with Corals and this could buy you some more money!  England are 28/1 to win the World Cup and yet Honduras are 4000/1 - did they not draw with England the other night?!  In the golf I have had a few quid on Stenson at 30/1, Kucher 28/1 and Blixt at 80/1.

The headlines in the paper this morning read "You wouldn't graze cattle on this".  They are talking about the pitch that England play Italy on this Saturday.  It does appear to have a few bare patches but grazing cattle on this is a lot of bull!  Have a nice day.
