It was another good day for the yard yesterday with David sending out a winner at Wincanton with Guess Again (pictured above) under Tom Scudamore.  It was a good performance from the nine year old over this 3m1 1/2f trip under a good positive ride.  He jumped really well and stayed on tenaciously and looks the type to score again in the coming months.  Scu was recording a double following an earlier success at Newton Abbot where the ground was extremely testing - his mount; the David Bridgwater trained Nomadic Prince clearly appreciated the heavy going, while it appeared to catch out a number of his rivals who were clearly expecting some traditional summer ground.

There is plenty of action to look forward today with six meetings taking place - five of them are on the level at Chester, Lingfield, Ascot, Ripon and Nottingham as well as a jumps card at Market Rasen.  The prize money on offer at Ascot is £78,000 while the jumps card at Cork is £80,000 - something about that doesn't sound quite right to me.

I see that young Sam Twiston-Davies has come in for a bit of stick over his new haircut.  His mother Cathy did it and it looks as though she should have used a bigger bowl to put on his head...I guess at least he has some hair to cut!

Ryan Moore is certainly being used by plenty of trainers at the moment and the former champion is riding out of his skin and is looking very much the one to beat at this early stage of the season.  He won the Chester Vase for Aiden O'Brien yesterday aboard Orchestra with a finely judged ride, while his success on Ballymore Castle was his thirteenth winner for a ten different trainers in the last twelve days.

Did you know that Chelsea currently have 25 players out on loan?  I wonder how many of those players will ever get a game for their home club?

England manager Roy Hodgson will name his 23 man squad for the World Cup on Monday.  With all of the injuries he will do well to name that many players!  Let's hope he picks plenty of youngsters who will be a part of the England format for many years to come.  We have next to no chance of winning so let's give some of them a taste of the big stage.

Scotland versus England always produces a competitive match...no, I am not talking about football but a cricket match!  We play them this morning in Aberdeen at 10.30am...do that many Scots play cricket?  I will have to ask Sean.
