Today we have three meetings to look forward to, two on the level at Pontefract and Southwell as well as a jumps fixture from Carlisle.  The Sir Michael Stoute team had an easy winner yesterday afternoon and with his team appearing to be in good order, it is certainly worth keeping an eye on his runners over the coming weeks.  He has Munaaser running at Pontefract this afternoon and he looks like an interesting runner.  The stable has no runners today.

I see that David could have a few runners up in Scotland this weekend.  It is their Grand National meeting up at Ayr and there are plenty of nice prizes to be tackled, including the Scottish Champion Hurdle.  Swing Bowler could line up in that race, while promising young hurdler Vieux Lion Rouge (the pair of them pictured above) has an entry in one of the handicaps.

There was no prouder father than Donald McCain yesterday who looked thrilled to lead in his daughter, four year old Abbie after she won the pony race aboard Little Bull at Kelso.  Donald looked as proud as punch - that's another saying where I have no idea of it's origin!

Tottenham Hotspur produced a good performance last night to beat Sunderland 5-1.  Stand-in manager Tim Sherwood has until the end of the season and his position looks perilous.  I think that is a little unfair as he has done a great job with the team - they could get the best manager in the world there and it wouldn't make any difference - they will never get in the top four with their current bunch of players.  Chairman Daniel Levy should take a look in the mirror - he is the one responsible for all the bad management signings.  He should give Sherwood a fair crack of the whip, afterall he didn't buy any of these players.

I see that Anthony Taylor didn't get a match this weekend - he was the terrible referee who was in charge of the Liverpool versus West Ham game.  His next match will be as fourth referee in the Sheffield United versus Hull game on Sunday - I think personally I would have put him in charge of car parks!
