             Red Sherlock

We have some top class action to look forward to this afternoon.  There are four meetings, three over the sticks at Kempton, Warwick and Wetherby and a flat card at Lingfield.  David has runners at all three of the jumps meetings so we have lots to keep an eye on.  Red Sherlock, His Excellency and Notus De La Tour run at Wetherby, The Liquidator, Home Run and Buddy Bolero at Kempton and Bygones Sovereign and Master Overseer run at Warwick.  Red Sherlock puts his unbeaten record on the line as he goes for his fifth win on the trot.  Timmy Murphy returns to the saddle today.  He won all three bumpers on our five year old but it was Tom Scu in the saddle for his debut hurdle win.  It looks a good opportunity for him to make it two from two over hurdles but he is not a betting proposition at 4/11 in the Racing Post.  Meanwhile our other runners up there are both ridden by Mikey Ennis who claims a valuable seven pounds off of His Excellency and Notus De La Tour.  Both horses need to recapture some of their old form but it would not be a surprise to see them both run okay.

The Liquidator runs in the re-arranged Tolworth hurdle, the only Grade 1 of the weekend.  This is a very competitive race as you would expect and although Kempton would not be his ideal track he is a top class horse who will not mind the ground.  Home Run has been in good form this season, running so good races in some very competitive handicaps.  Today is another of those as he tackles the Lanzarote hurdle.  Tom Bellamy rides him for the first time and claims seven pounds and he should run his races and be there at the finish as he does relish this heavy going. Buddy Bolero is the final runner of our trio at Kempton. He will also love the condtions and he could run okay with Tom Scu in the saddle.

Bygones Sovereign under a lightweight is our first runner at Warwick in the Pertemps race.  He battled on very bravely to win at Ascot last time out and although he has gone up 11 pounds for that win and this is a tougher race a similar race would not see him far away.  Kieron Edgar is on board this afternoon.  Master Overseer runs in the classic chase with Conor O'Farrell in the saddle.  He stays all day and will love the ground conditions.  He tends to either win or pull up but on a going day he would have a good chance but this is another very competitive race as you would expect for the prize money on offer.

Imagine your boss calling you into the office and saying we are sending you away for warm weather training.  Well that is what Wayne Rooney is going on.  MCP once said to me, do you want to go to Sedgefield!

My football bets for today are.  Everton 4/9, Chelsea 8/13 and Blackburn 4/7.  Have a nice day.
