Legendary Australian trainer Bart Cummings has this morning landed Australia's premier weight for age race, The Cox Plate at Moonee Valley with odds-on favourite So You Think.  Ridden by Steven Arnold, who tasted Royal Ascot success aboard Scenic Blast, the result was never really in doubt as So You Think coasted to his second consecutive success in the race.  Full result: 1st So You Think, 2nd Zipping, 3rd Whobegotyou.

Over on these shores, the National Hunt season is really getting into full swing now with meetings at Aintree, Chepstow and Stratford this afternoon.  There has been a fair bit of overnight rain in the West country, so the going at Chepstow could turn out to be quite testing (especially as they had already been watering the track).  I don't advocate horses running on track's that are as hard as a road, but I do think that sometimes the groundsmen should just leave the ground alone and let nature take it's course.

There were some big crowds at last weekend's meetings at Newmarket and Cheltenham.  No fewer that 14,000 were in attendance at Headquarters, while 16,000 went along to Cheltenham.  If you have good meetings with decent prizemoney, you will attract quality fields and big crowds.

I see that Ascot held a draw with the winning prize being a pair of members badges for 2011.  The winner was Barry Dennis, luckily though it was not rails bookmaker Barry "Bismarck" Dennis, but another person by the same name - I expect organisers were very relieved when they learned that!

We found a couple of good priced winners on the Pipeline yesterday that returned at the rewarding odds of 13/2 and 10/3, while both text tips were also successful.  For details of how to benefit from this excellent information, click on the "News" heading, and then go to "The Pipeline".
