There are four meetings this afternoon, three over the jumps at Wincanton, Market Rasen and Leicester as well as an all-weather flat card at Wolverhampton.  The stable has six runners at Wincanton today - Prasina Russata, Red Seventy (pictured above), Party Girls, Vilja, Decoy and Kilrye and it looks like a tricky day's racing.  Two of the runners are owned by Brian Kilpatrick who has been a great supporter of the stable for many years.  Brian was fortunate enough to own the wonderful Sabin du Loir...now he was a special racehorse.  I will always remember travelling to a packed Huntingdon racecourse to see him beat Desert Orchid - wouldn't it be lovely to find a few more like him?

Isn't it a shame that Gerard Butler was only give a five year ban from the sport?  As I have said time and again - a hard line is the only way you are going to stamp out drug cheats in sport so I would have given him a lifetime ban.  Rexogin is what disgraced Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson was banned for...it certainly bucked him up a bit, although he probably found that he was eating a lot of hay!

I must admit to being quite amused by the headlines following Manchester United's defeat by Everton.  Moyes has spent 11 years trying to help Everton win at Old Traffor and now he has finally done it...as the manager of Manchester United!  What a great manager Sir Alex Ferguson must have been - he certainly knew when it was the right time to retire.  United seem to have a lot of players who are past their prime - what is more, they are only 9 points ahead of West Ham in the Premiership - that will really upset my mates Tony and Eddie!

He may not be my favourite person but there can be little doubt that Liverpool's Luis Suarez is the best player in the Premier League.  He scored four yesterday as Liverpool beat Norwich 5-1.  Chelsea and Manchester City seem to have a shaky defence - Arsenal seem to be rock solid at the back and continue to be the team to beat.

Remember when you are playing golf, NEVER touch the line of you putt!  Simon Dyson learned this the hard way when he did it in a tournament recently - he failed to add a two shot penalty to his score at the BMW Masters and now could face a lengthy ban when he goes in front of a disciplinary panel.
