There are three meetings taking place this afternoon - two over the sticks at Perth and Huntingdon and one on the level at Brighton.  As I am sure you would have guessed, the best prize money on offer on these shores is at Brighton's flat card, although £26,000 shared between seven races is not exactly anything to get overexcited about, especially when you consider that the Galway card in Ireland offers £126,000 in prize money across their seven race fixture.  How much longer can this go on for?

Our only runner yesterday, The Tracey Shuffle was a little disappointing in finishing fourth in the handicap hurdle at Fontwell.  He is still to win a handicap and looks as though he could be in need of a little help from the handicapper.

I expect there were a few disappointed punters when Centoria was disqualified at Fontwell after winning the bumper.  Having said that, the 5/2 favourite caused serious interference to Hazel Brook leaving officials little choice but to throw the 'winner' out.

I watched a great fight at the weekend betwen Ricky Burns and Raymundo Beltran.  I know that Burns sustained a broken jaw, but how on earth did he manage to get a draw?  I'm afraid I agree with Jim Watts, the Mexican was a clear winner - he even had Burns on the floor...the judge that gave the fight to Burns should have gone to Specsavers!

Apparently wrestling is due to become an Olympic sport...we should be quite competitive at that as it goes on every week in the penalty area of all the Premiership football teams!  Actually, I don't know why there aren't more penalties given by the refs...

It was another nice leisurely Sunday afternoon drive for Sebastian Vettel yesterday as he led pretty much from start to finish to win the Italian Grand Prix.  The young German says that the title race is not yet over even though he has 222 points while nearest rival Fernando Alonso has only 169 - that is over two clear victories, and with only seven races left that lead is big enough?

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will earn his 100th cap for England tomorrow night when they play Ukraine.  Frank's dad (also Frank!) was one of my heros in the early days at West Ham...he took no prisoners at full back.
