Today there are four meetings taking place with two jumps cards at Aintree and Sedgefield as well as flat fixtures at Leicester and Wolverhampton.  The stable has had four runners at Aintree - Dynaste (pictured above), Gevrey Chambertin, Broadway Buffalo and Centasia.  It is good to see Dynaste run again after finishing runner-up at the Cheltenham Festival.  The step up in trip should suit him and the slightly better ground should be okay.  Broadway Buffalo puts his unbeaten record on the line as he steps up in grade to contest the Listed handicap hurdle - he certainly looks worth his place in the line-up having won his previous five starts.

I thought that His Excellency ran yet another sound race in top company yesterday as he finished fourth behind Captain Conan, picking up nearly £4,000 in prize money.  Meanwhile over at Taunton, stable sponsors Wayne and Sarah Clifford enjoyed a nice winner when Weekend Millionair won the big hurdle race under Nick Scholfield who was deputising for injured Tom Bellamy.  The winner looks sure to go up in the handicap for winning this in good style and he could turn out again quickly under a penalty.  Yesterday's results saw us break through the £1 million prize money barrier...not a bad achievement with still over three weeks of the season remaining.

Poor old Tom Bellamy took a nasty fall in the seller at Taunton when the Alan Jones trained Emerald Glade ran out at the last with the race at his mercy.  Tom has broken his right femur and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, we wish him a speedy recovery.

The ground at Liverpool looks really good although the times were comparitively slow so the going is probably riding dead.  Aintree was cold and relatively quiet yesterday - there certainly didn't seem to be that many people there, although I am anticipating it being a little more vibrant, what with it being Ladies' Day...there will be plenty of miniskirts, orange tans and probably a punch-up or two!

Sorry to hear that Donald McCain has not been 'a tall well'.  The trainer wasn't at Aintree yesterday as he had fallen down a well...surely he must have running water at his yard?!  Anyway, I hope you are soon on the mend Donald.

I thought that Basle played brilliantly to get a draw with Spurs last night.  I reckon it will be difficult for Tottenham to get a result when they travel to Basle.
