There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon and the obvious highlight is the final day of the Paddy Power Open meeting at Cheltenham.  It isn't a bad card at the other fixture, Fontwell however as they host their Southern National...the really good news is that both meetings are televised on Channel 4.  The stable has several runners at Cheltenham this afternoon His Excellency, Close House, Kazlian, I Shot The Sheriff and The Liquidator - some of you with good memories may remember that Martin used to train a horse called The Liquidator a few years ago...he was very useful so let's hope that the same is true of his namesake!

I see that Frankie Dettori had some good news on Friday when a horse that he bred, Dodging Bullets won at Cheltenham.  I don't suppose he had the November meeting at Cheltenham in mind when he was thinking of the pedigree, but a winner is a winner.

I must admit I have been enjoying watching I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, especially Coronation Street's Helen Flanagan.  It does beg question however, what on earth did she think was going to happen when she agreed to go into the jungle?!  Did she think she was going to be able to pop down to her local KFC to get her chicken?!  The only things that are likely to pop out are her boobs!  I don't think I have ever seen such a whimp (and I am an expert on the subject!)...the Manchester City player who puts up with her must be a Saint!

I see that Millwall play Leeds this afternoon at 1.15pm and that could be a real battle (and I don't mean just on the pitch!).  When the Hammers used to play at Cold Blow Lane there was always trouble - you have been warned!

Talking of reality television - my wife is something of an expert at picking the winners of all these shows and she has been gloating about Strictly Come Dancing.  She has backed Denise Van Outen and Louis at 7/1 and 5/1 - she keeps saying to me "who needs a formbook?!"  Noone likes a smartarse darling!
