The stable has two runners this afternoon at Towcester - My Brother Sylvest and King's Exit.  Amazingly Towcester seem to have avoided most of the rain that has beset the rest of the country and they are currently giving their official going as good/firm.  That should suit My Brother Sylvest whose four successes have all come on top of the ground.  He makes his chasing debut this afternoon in the beginners' chase and will be partnered by Tom Scudamore.  Our other runner is former point-to-pointer King's Exit who makes his debut for the stable in the bumper - this stiff track should suit him.  There are three other meetings on today, two on the flat at Nottingham and Kempton as well as another jumps card at Ludlow.

Above are another couple of pictures from the gallops - this time of a couple of horses yet to make their debuts for the yard.  Soliwery had shown some useful form in this country and in France previously before being pitched in to some very competitive races, while Franklin Roosevelt won over hurdles on his final start last term.  It will not be too long before you see them on track - indeed, Franklin Roosevelt holds an entry at Ffos Las on Sunday.  Meanwhile, old favourite Swing Bill also looked really well as he completed his work.

I was looking at the flat card at Brighton yesterday aftenoon and the track more closely resembled a ploughed field.  The heavy ground really sorted out the flat horses - one of the races was 14 seconds slower than standard, and a horse can run quite a long way in 14 seconds!  If your horse didn't handle bottomless ground, it would have had no chance yesterday.

It's all change on the football managers merry-go-round again.  Owen Coyle was sacked from Bolton yesterday and Mick McCarthy is favourite to get the job.  Football management seems to be a great job to have - you get the sack, receive a big pay-off and then get another job.  Sadly, it's a bit too northerly for Harry Redknapp - I can't wait to see 'Arry back managing a top side again.  It is normally around Christmas time that one of the Premiership's chairmen will begin to panic and then I would imagine they will be on the blower to Harry to keep them in the top flight!

What is the world coming to?  I cannot believe that they are having a debate on banning page 3...where do they think I get my form from?!
