There are three meetings on this afternoon - a flat card in Scotland at Hamilton and two jumps meetings at Plumpton and Uttoxeter. Yes, I did say jumps meetings and it is certainly nice to have the National Hunt action back on again following another enforced ten day sabbatical. The stable has one runner, Shallow Bay (Tom Scudamore) in the maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter and he already has plenty of form in the book to suggest that he should go close in such a race. Champion jockey A P McCoy has no fewer than eight mounts at the track and I cannot believe that he will be leaving there without a winner or two. Remember though, if you are having a bet at Hamilton today - the ground is heavy.

I feel sorry for poor old Lewis Hamilton...his current Formula One team, McLaren want to pay him less than his current £75,000,000 (yes, that's right - six noughts!). Don't shed to many tears for the British driver though as Mercedes want to pay him around £100,000,000 (yes, even more noughts!). It hardly seems worth bump starting your car for! Not only that, his pop-singer girlfriend looks to be a bit of alright too! It never happened to me when I was playing ping pong!

I see that Kevin Pietersen is in Sri Lanka as a cricket pundit. I wonder if they will ask him about those texts relating to former England skipper Andrew Strauss. It does seem to be a waste of good talent that he's talking instead of playing.

There are two great football matches on this weekend on television toady. Liverpool versus Manchester United kick off at 1.30pm and than Manchester City play Arsenal at 4.00pm. Both matches are on Sky Sports One and I would love to be watching the action. I just hope that the fans behave properly - you only need a few idiots to ruin a game.
