What a great performance from Abracadabra Sivola (pictured above) to score at Kempton on Saturday.  I did say that he was well handicapped on the pick of his form, but he put in a beautiful round of jumping under David Noonan who gave him a well-judged ride from the front.  This was a very good performance under top weight of 11-12 and the prize money of almost £7,500 was handy too - let's hope that the handicapper doesn't stick him up too much.

We are completely snowed in down her in Brixham!  It is the worst that I have seen it in 40 years of living here, so much so that I cannot get the car out of the drive as it is under 2 feet of the white stuff.  Mind you, all the kids down the street seem to love it, although it's a bit cold if you get hit by a snowball.  At present it is looking like Lingfield's all-weather card is likely to be the only surviving fixture.  The track may be okay but I wonder how all the horse boxes are going to get to the course - they certainly wouldn't make it if it were held in Devon!  Anyway, it is hardly surprising that there are no runners from Pond House today and I can't see there being any jumps fixtures for a good few days.

I think I will be staying in for a day or two...and I bet you never thought you would hear me say this, it is a good job that there is some all-weather racing!

I was watching the quarter-final action from the FA Cup yesterday and Southampton beat Wigan in a pretty even match, while Chelsea dispatched Leicester in extra time.  I thought the best player I saw all weekend was the Wigan goalkeeper Walton who saved a penalty from Gabbiadini, meanwhile Leicester keeper Schmiechel had a stinker in the other game.  That means that Manchester United play Spurs in one semi, while Chelsea will face Southampton in the other.

"I don't care if you are an usher at the cinema" said the policeman, "you can't just tear up every ticket that you're given!"  Have a nice day and keep safe...
