Today we have four meetings, three flat cards at Yarmouth, Sandown and Beverley plus a jumps card at Kelso.  I see Conor O'Farrell has three rides up at Kelso but all three are big prices.  I also see that Irish trainer Stephen McConville and his son Michael have had their bans reduced from four and five years to three years as they both admitted to giving their runner at the Cheltenham Festival this year 2 injections on race day, one of which was a tonic containing cobalt - a prohibited substance.  Both men claim they were unaware the injections were potentially performance enhancing.  Surely if that was the case, why give it to the horse?!

I was watching the racing yesterday and spotted a horse at Redcar to keep on the right side of.  Kynren won the mile handicap in good style off 85.  He defied a 6 pound penalty and he can surely do that gain before the handicapped has his say.  In the seller at Chepstow yesterday the winner was sold to Jennie Candlish for £16,000 and the second horse was claimed by John Flint for £10,000.  Lets keep an eye on them to see if they can make hurdlers.  We need more sellers and claimers.

Little football club Burton will make some money tonight as they play at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup.  I bet the directors are rubbing their hands together.  Everton play Sunderland and West Brom play Man City.  The only trouble is you do not know which clubs are taking this competition seriously.  If you back Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Man City and Everton you can get odds between 7/5 and 6/4.  I think Everton could be the fly in the ointment.

In the cricket, England won their first one day international against the West Indies.  Johnny Bairstow made his first one day international century.

A cloud just stole away the sunshine.  Bloody daylight robbery!  Have an nice day.
