I did enjoy watching the video of David getting a soaking courtesy of the Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday.  As well as partner Lianne, the beleagured trainer also had daughter Sophie with a smaller bucket of ice as well as son Jack with a hose to finish the job off!  It's all for a good cause so get donating.  In the meantime I am amazed that more people have not been in touch to give Martin a soaking - I would have thought that countless people will have wanted to tip a bucket of ice water over him.  If you would like to be the one, contact us via e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. There seem to have been a few false starts lately and yesterday there was another one at Epsom.  They had a chap with a whistle and another with a flag to stop the five furlong sprinters although they had little chance of stopping these highly strung athletes hurtling towards them at speeds of over 40mph.  I cannot see why they cannot design a starting gate that horses cannot break out of at the front, or am I just being stupid?!

There was a good match last night between Manchester City and Liverpool, although I thought that City rather mugged the Scousers.  The match seemed much closer than the 3-1 scoreline and while it is early days, I reckon these are the two teams who will fight out the title race.

Lots of the teams seem to be playing their reserves in the Capital One Cup tonight as they will be trying to protect their first team players.  If any of the following turn out a decent team we could be looking at a tasty acca on West Brom at 4/11, West Ham at 8/13, Swansea at 1/2 and Manchester United at 2/5.
