Irish Adventure

David has runners at Leopardstown and Ffos Las this afternoon.  Notus De la Tour returns to Ireland to run in a very good Arkle novices chase after running well at the track over the Christmas period when finishing second behind todays rival, Blackstairmountain.  Jockey Robbie Power rode our six year old last time and said afterwards we had a chance of reversing the form with the winner on softer ground so fingers crossed the ground has not dried out too much after some rain earlier in the week.  It  is a very tough race and whatever happens there is 80,000 Euros up for grabs and the Irish look after us and our owners extremely well and I am sure we will be venturing back across the Irish sea again soon!  

David's has two runners at Ffos Las, The Tatkin and Bladoun.  The Tatkin received a big height in the weights for winning last time out at Hereford though she should love conditions at the Welsh track and we hope she can run well.  Bladoun runs in the concluding Bumper and he should have learnt a lot from his racecourse debut where he finished third at Newcastle.  He should like conditions and we are again hoping he runs well with Johnny Farrelly in the Saddle.  Meanhwhile back at the yard I took some photos the other day when it was a bit frosty!  On Khee is entered at Ludlow this week and she galloped upside Ashbrittle while bumpers winners Swing Bowler and Gevrey Chambertin worked well together.

Tom Scudamore was on Channel 4 on the Morning line yesterday.  Tom got seven questions right in the quiz and is top of the leaderborard in the new league.  During the show they asked Tom who would win in a driving finish between him and his dad Peter.  Tom sat on the fence a bit but I would have to say his dad because I am the older generation!  Tom is however much better at talking on the tv than his dad ever was and don't forget Peter actually worked for the BBC!

Golf.  Can you believe that Rory McIlroy got a 2 stroke penalty from brushing sand away while off the green?!  Luke Donald tried to stop him but it was too late.  Rory said as soon as he did it he realised he made a mistake.  Lets just hope he does not lose the championship by 2 shots or he will want to bury his head in the sand!
