Clever Dick ran okay at Fontwell yesterday but it was bottomless ground and he looked to be going well down the back straight but did not appear to get home in the testing ground.  He was also a bit hampered and lost a few lengths going round the final bend and from then on he lost all chance of winning.  I am sure we will see him in better light on not such testing ground.  Meanwhile at Huntingdon, Rose of the Moon ran no sort of race, also on very testing ground.  He has got to be better than this so hopefully he can bounce back to form next time.  I am pleased to report that both horses are fine this morning and have come out of their races well.  David has plenty of runners today at Cheltenham and Doncaster.

Mr Chow, Tamarinbleu, Catch Tammy, Dynaste and Battle group all run at Prestbury Park while there are just two runners now at Doncaster, African Broadway and Dan Breen.  I'msingingthebles is a non-runner in the 2.50pm SkyBet Chase.  It looks another very competitve Saturdays racing and I will be glued to the television this afternoon!  I particularly love the veteran Tamarinbleu.  Even at twelve years old our stable favourite has run three good races this season and won last time out at Haydock.  I am sure he will run well this afternoon and has a good each way chance.  Dynaste takes on Big Bucks again in the Cleeve hurdle.  Big Bucks is probably the best staying hurdler we have ever seen and it is some task for Dynaste.  David's six year old made all the running last time the pair met at Ascot but we may employ different tactics this afternoon to try and give the champ a bit more of a race!  During the week I was out with my camera and snapped African Broadway and Dynaste doing their final pieces of prep work.  Fingers crossed they all run well this afternoon.

I saw one of the best tennis matched of all time yesterday from the Australian Open.  Poor Andy Murray lost in the fifth set of the semi-final to Djokovic.  The match took five hours and went on until after midnight!  I would think Djokovic will take a while to recover and it could give Nadal the edge in the final.  I don't believe Murray could have played any better and I just think he is a little unlucky to be playing in an era with three fantastic players around.  It was good to see Rod Laver in the crowd watching.  He was a good serve and volley player, these days it is mostly base line play!

Harry Rednapp's tottenham managed to win 1-0 in the FA Cup last night but now he will have other things on his mind that are more taxing!  There are some great matches in the football today.  Liverpool play Man Utd at 12.45pm and then QPR play Chelsea later on.  These will both be tasty matches but lets just hope there is no trouble.  My little football treble is Stoke 13/10, Charlton evens and Raeding 5/6.  Have a nice day.
