There are no runners from Pond House today but there is just the one jumps meeting at Fontwell.  There are also flat meetings at Thirsk and on the all-weather at Southwell.  Philip Armson travels to Fontwell for three rides but the first of these is in the 4.00pm race and then he rides in the last three races.  All three horses are quite big prices but fingers crossed he can have some good spins.

Our next stable runner is on the flat tomorrow at Wolverhampton with Pepsiwithacap making her stable debut but more about that in the morning! It is a fairly quiet start to the week for us with runners but things look set to get busier as the week progresses and we enter the weekend.  On Friday this week the all-weather championships take place at Lingfield and Newcastle with the action covered by ITV racing.  There is also a tight battle in the all-weather flat jockeys title race to be decided with things in the balance between Danny Muscatt and Kevin Stott.

While there has been a lot of talk in recent days about Constitution Hill and his future career path, what is clear is his next public appearance will be on Friday as part of the Lambourn Open Day.  Nicky Henderson’s yard is just one of many to open its doors and his stable star will be parading.  It is also the Middleham Open Day and Charlie Johnston is just one of the stables opening its doors up there.  If you have never been to the Lambourn Open Day and have nothing planned for Friday then I would highly recommend a visit.  I went a few years ago and had a great day out and enjoyed visiting all the yards.  I have never done the Middleham one but that is on my to do list!

Saturday is a very busy day on the racing front and while we have entries at Haydock and Newton’s Abbot’s first fixture of 2023.   There is also racing at Musselburgh, Carlisle and Wolverhampton.  In Ireland attention turns to Fairyhouse for the first of their three day Easter Festival which concludes with the Irish National on Monday.  On Sunday at Fairyhourse there is possible mouth-watering novices chase to look forwards to.  Last year the race was won by this year’s Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs and this year the entries include El Fabiolo, Gerri Colombe, Banbridge and Mighty Potter.  Sunday is also a busy day in Britain too with action at Ffos Las, Market Rasen, Plumpton and Southwell.  Plenty to look forward to this weekend if you are a racing fan.  I am a golfing fan and I am very much looking forward to the Masters at Augusta this weekend as well!

Last night in the football Everton drew with Tottenham 1-1. The action continues thick and fast this week with four Premiership games this evening and the pick being Chelsea against Liverpool at 8pm.  Both teams lost their matches at the weekend and are looking to bounce back while Chelsea have to do it without their manager who was sacked on Sunday!

If you spell the words “Absolutely Nothing” backwards, you get “Gnihton Yletulosba” …which ironically means…Absolutely nothing!! Have a good Tuesday.
