The stable was back among the winners with Texard bolting up in the 2m4f handicap chase at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon.  Stepping up to 2m4f, he was always travelling well within himself at the head of the field and put in a flawless round of jumping under Philip Armson.  He soon had his rivals in trouble and stretched right away in the straight to score by 28 lengths.  He is in the valuable Summer Plate at Market Rasen on Saturday and he would likely be well-in if turning out under a penalty.  Itacare was below his best in the staying handicap hurdle, finishing fourth.  Perhaps now, he might get a few pounds off his back from the handicapper?

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Worcester and flat fixtures from Chepstow, Leicester, Hamilton and Epsom.  David has three runners today; Koi Dodville, Bashful Boy and Duesenberg.  Koi Dodville contests the 2m½f novices' handicap chase at 5.50pm.  He produced a good effort when runner-up at Market Rasen on his first start over fences and with conditions to suit, a reproduction of that performance would give him claims here.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

Bashful Boy runs in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 6.55pm.  He was a game winner over slightly shorter at Market Rasen on his penultimate start and shapes as though he will get this longer trip.  He will like the prevailing conditions and whilst 5lbs higher than when last successful, he should go well under Philip Armson.

Duesenberg is our final runner in the maiden hurdle at 7.25pm.  He had some decent form on the flat at distances up to a mile and there is reason for optimism in his pedigree that he may get this trip, although it is still a question mark.  If he settles and stays, he would have each-way claims.  Tom Scudamore rides.

England's cricketers face India in the second one day international at Lord's today.  They took an absolute thumping on Tuesday, losing by ten wickets, that on the heels of a loss in the T20 format as well.  It will take a big effort by the hosts to turn that around, although that can quickly change in the limited overs format.
