There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Newton Abbot and flat fixtures from Doncaster, Sandown, Haydock and Beverley.  David has four runners today at Newton Abbot; Kolisi, Free Chakarte, Port O'Clock and Lock Out and he looks to have some decent chances too.  Kolisi is the first of them as he contests the 2m1f handicap hurdle at 2.30pm.  He has been in good form, winning three times and finishing runner-up on his latest outing behind a subsequent winner.  He is 3lbs higher today, but is still at the right end of the weights and conditions should suit, so he looks to have a good chance under Tom Scudamore.

Free Chakarte (pictured above) contests the juvenile hurdle at 3.40pm.  A winner at Hexham on her debut for the stable, she finished third behind another of today's rivals, Mucuna at Aintree, but was conceding a penalty that day.  She is better off at the weights this afternoon and looks to be the one to beat with Tom Scudamore in the saddle.

Port O'Clock represents the David Pipe Racing Club in the 3m2f handicap chase at 4.50pm.  He made a solid start for the stable when a narrow runner-up behind a subsequent winner at Worcester and is due to go up 4lbs in future handicaps.  He is blinkered for the first time today and should go close.

Our final runner is Lock Out, who contests the concluding bumper at 5.23pm.  He showed a good attitude when winning the second of his two starts in Irish point-to-points, and he has pleased in his work since arriving at Pond House.  Another that looks to have solid claims under Tom Scudamore.

We were out of luck yesterday, with Lady Reset just denied in the Ladies' Derby at Epsom last night.  She saw out the 1m4f trip very well, sticking on all the way to the line to be closest at the finish, although she didn't really look to be enjoying the camber of the course.  She remains in good form and should continue to give a good account on a more conventional track.  Meanwhile, Iron Heart was disappointing in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Perth.

There was further success for the Brits at Wimbledon yesterday with Katie Boulter and Liam Broady making it through to the next round, whilst Jack Draper showed great promise before losing out late last night.  British number one, Cameron Norrie makes his debut on centre court this year when his is the last match on the showcourt today.  He follows reigning champion Novak Djokovic.  Meanwhile, Heather Watson is in action on court number one.

England's cricketers are back in action today as they commence their Test series against India at Edgbaston.  Let's hope it is as successful and entertaining as the recent series against New Zealand.
