It is good to have Tom Scu back riding today, a couple of days earlier than originally anticipated.  He has a couple of rides for David at Market Rasen this evening. Taratata Sivola is making his Pond House debut in the 6.50pm novice's chase.  Our four year old gets a handy weight allowance in this race and after finishing runner up in a chase at Auteuil last time out we are hoping that he gives Tom a great first ride back.  He also rides My Brother Sylvest in the 8.20pm handicap hurdle for David.  Tom has rides for brother Michael at Southwell tomorrow so he looks to have some good chances of grabbing a winner on his first weekend back.  I personally hope he does and restores some confidence because even though he has been riding out for a couple of weeks at home and he is extremely fir there is nothing like a bit of race riding to get you backon the top of your game.  I bet his wife Lottie will just be glad to get him out of the house as I am sure he has been getting on her nerves the last few months!  Good luck Tom!

I don't like to criticise jockeys as it is very easy to be a jockey from the stands but how did that jockey get beat in the first race at Newbury yesterday?  I know I am talking through my pocket but I have had several phone calls having a moan about this so it is not just me!  I won't name the jockey but his dad is a great trainer and is just going to retire from training.  It is a shame his son is not taking his lead.  On another note from Newbury, Top Offer looks a very useful horse and must be followed.

I was watching the one sided cricket yesterday and when Morgan got his ton he went down the wicket and gave Alistair Cook a big hug.  At one moment I even thought they were going to kiss each other.  Luckily Cook still had his helmet on!  I know they have got good team spirit but I think they might have being going a bit too far!  England are in a very strong postion now and hopefully they will bowl India out today and win the match.

It is Richard Dennis' 47th birthday today.  Richard works in the yard and he rode for Les Kennard years ago and rode some good horses like Shell Burst and Migrator.  Richard has worked at Pond House for many years and guards his racing opst like it is gold dust!  He will not let anyone touch or read his paper.  He is very good with all the form and you can ask him any question and he knows the answer!  Happy Birthday Richard!

The race in America tonight is the Arlington Million.  I see that Jamie Spencer and Hayley Turner are out riding over there.  The big race is on Racing UK at 11.15pm and should be a good watch.
