D'Jango Winner at Worcster on Saturday

From three runners over the weekend we had a winner and two second places so not too bad at all!  Kolisi was a stride off winning at Worcester on Saturday evening while Lady Reset was a head out of first place on the flat at Salisbury yesterday, so we were very close, only about 1/2 length total in fact in having a treble!  It was good to see Kolisi bounce back from a below par effort at Plumpton on his previous run.  He travelled and jumped well and probably had he not had to switch very wide approaching the last it may have been a different result.  He stayed on very strongly from the last and would have won in another stride.  He has been declared again for tomorrow at Stratford so check back here in the morning for more news.

We concluded the Worcester card with a winner thanks to D'jango and the red hot Philip Armson in the saddle.  Our nine year old has some very good French form to his name but has taken a while to find his feet since coming over to Britain and this was his first success this side of the English Channel.  He is not the most natural of jumpers but put in a good from running display and was not for catching up the home straight.  Hopefully the handicapper will not overreact and he should continue to be competitive going forwards.

Lady Reset travelled to Salisbury yesterday and ran her typical gallant race to finish second, beaten a head with Laura Pearson in the saddle.  As the said on the TV, she must be a pleasure to own, she certainly is, and train!  There were excuses for her effort at Cartmel last time and she bounced right back with a terrific effort yesterday, she always goes down all guns blazing.  She is bright and well this morning after the race and who know it could be another run on the flat or over hurdles next time!

D'jango was winner number 13 for the stable this season, it is great to have the horses in such good form.  We have also had 21 second places!!  A few to many for our liking but it is nice the team are in rude health.  There are no runners from the yard today with no jumping action but there are four flat meetings at Lingfield, Nottingham, Carlisle and Windsor to watch and there is also jumping action in Ireland at Kilbeggan.  The next runners for the stable will be at Stratford tomorrow where we have declared Kolisi and Awesomedude.

It is also the start of Royal Ascot week, David and Leanne are off there tomorrow and while unfortunately there are no Royal runners for us this year we are looking forward to keeping an eye on the the top class action.  Happy Monday everyone!
