There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps cards taking place at Kempton and Sedgefield.  The pick of the action definitely comes at Kempton where they host a couple of Listed contests, although the fields have been blighted by the good (good/firm in places) ground which has been watered.  The biggest field on their seven race cards has attracted only six runners which is a great pity for the track and of course the sponsors who have supported the races.

The big race of the day is the Listed hurdle at 3.15pm and whilst not an original choice, Silver Streak may just have too many guns for Sceau Royal.  Versatile with regard to ground, he has won the last two renewals of this race and I reckon he can record the hat-trick today.

There are a couple of Premiership football matches to look forward to today with Everton versus West Ham the most intriguing.  Both sides have made a good start to the season and Rafa Benitez' sides have always fared well against David Moyes coached sides.  Even so, Everton have a few injury woes at present and it wouldn't be a big surprise to see the Hammers get a result with Moyes facing his old side.

The NFL continues this weekend with a London match at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium this afternoon.  I have been to several of these matches (although not at this stadium) and they are a fantastic spectacle.  The Jacksonville Jaguars play the Miami Dolphins today in a match featuring two of the lesser sides in the league.  Indeed, they have combined for just one win between them this season...and I thought the Vikings had problems!

Speaking of which, the Vikings travel to Carolina to play the Panthers and they will be hoping to go into their bye week next week with a victory that would leave them at 3-3.  It is a winnable match, although much will depend on how the Minnesota pass rush gets on against Carolina QB Sam Darnold who had a bad game last week - hopefully it will continue for at least one more week!
