What No Jumps?!

How can you have a Saturday with six meetings and yet there are no jumps fixtures?  This subject is brought up time and again but does not seem to make any difference to the people who sort out the race planning.  Most people still don't tend to work at the weekends, so I firmly believe that there should be a jump meeting on somewhere - afterall, with the recent downpours, it has been more like winter anyway!  I bet that A P McCoy will be off playing golf somewhere, but I bet that he would rather be riding winners!

Did you know that a horse can drink twelve gallons of water per day?  I hope that question comes up in my local pub quiz league - I would certainly impress a few people with my answer.  I know a few people that drink the equivalent amount in pints of beer!

What about this for telling porky's?...Sir Alex Ferguson was up in Scotland watching the golf and met up with world number one Lee Westwood.  He shook Lee by the hand, patted him on the back and wished him the best of luck, "you know what a big Manchester United fan I am" claimed Westwood.  You little fibber - everyone knows that you support Nottingham Forest!

I was pleased to see Graham McDowell shoot a round of 64 and hit form just before the start of the British Open championship at Sandwich next week.
